About Prof. Dr. Pere Soler Palacin

Pediatric immunologist and specialist in pediatric infectious diseases and head of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Immunodeficiencies Unit at Vall d’Hebron Campus, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. He is the Director of the Jeffrey Modell Diagnostic and Research Center for Primary Immunodeficiencies (Barcelona) and the local coordinator of the European Reference Network for Immunodeficiencies (ERN-RITA) site in Barcelona. His research is mainly focused in early diagnosis of primary immunodeficiencies and optimization of immunoglobulin replacement therapy in these patients.

He has participated to date in more than 30 national and international projects, 13 of which as principal investigator and author of more than 100 publications in journals indexed with an h-index of 13, and more than 200 communications in national and international scientific meetings.

Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Barcelona, since 2010 and has directed 3 doctoral thesis. He is the president of the Barcelona-PID Foundation a non-profit organization to improve the quality of life of patients with PID and their relatives and to promote research in this field.
