Dr. Bonfim oversees the Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant Program at the Federal University of Paraná in Brazil. 

Academic Trajectory
Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Paraná (1988) and PhD in Child and Adolescent Health from the Federal University of Paraná. Graduate program of Instituto Pele Pequeno Principe/Faculdades Pequeno Principe.

Her major areas of interest are: Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) for patients with Primary Immunodeficiencies, Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Inherited Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes. Dr Bonfim has also a special interest in newborn HSCT for selected genetic diseases detected after newborn screening and the use of alternative stem cell sources for pediatric transplantation (cord blood and haploidentical transplantation).

Professional achievements
Professor at the Graduate Program in Child and Adolescent Health at the Federal University of Parana, and physician at the Pediatric HSCT Service at Hospital Nossa Senhora das Graças.
